Summer Camp 2007 |
PG Scouts Survived 2007 Summer Camp, despite the day we left, Maidenhead had
Floods, terential rain. at camp it rained for 8 days, we then saw the SUN.
We had the odd heavy shower. The Scouts still managed to work in patrols, cooking
meals and doing most of the planed activities.
Finally most of the equipment is dry and has been put away. Thank you goes to every one
who helped in hundreds of different ways make this years camp a success.
This page was updated most days while we were at camp

2007 Unloading the Lorry
2007 Lorry at Site
There are no photos of loading the Lorry or Journey
At 7am, It took me 45 minutes to get from Powney Road to the Hall
Friday 20th July was when Maidenhead had adverse weather conditions,
the river flowing outside the Hall. Tom Tandy could not make it to the hall till mid day due the floods
in Highway Road (behind the pines)
The Journey don the M4 took us over 7 hours, after Reading there were floods, land slips, lorry's on fire plus broken down vehicles that slowed the journey down. Even the services at Membury
the Coffee lounge was under two foot of water.
The lorry got stuck in the entrance of the site, so everything had to be unloaded and carried up the field.
We got the Marquee up by 10pm and had a cooked tea at 11pm.
It did not stop raining
