Laser Quest - 9th March 2001

The Unit went to Laser Quest on Friday 9th March after being invited to come along by the Scouts. All five of us crammed ourselves in Conrad's Fiat and he drove us to Reading. This was the biggest challenge the venture unit have yet attempted.

When we arrived in Reading we all piled out of the car and were put into separate teams so it kept the Scout teams as fair as possible. Each team played two games and I am sad to say that the team I was in came last in both games, but only just and it is the taking part that counts. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed all the games which lasted 20 minutes each, this may not seem this long but after you have been running around non stop dodging Laser Beams it is over so soon. Everyone from the Unit that went enjoyed themselves and looks forward to going again in the future

Backwoods Cooking - 1st March 2001

After the General Meeting on 1st March the Unit went backwoods cooking in the PG woods , the evening was a huge success and everyone who went had a great time cooking sausages, despite the cold damp weather. The hardest part was lighting the fires in the damp and trying to find dry wood to burn

A meeting was held on Thursday 25th January 2001 after a temporary suspension of the unit. The meeting was to introduce a new team of Ventures to the unit and discuss a programme for this term. The meeting was a huge success and an active programme was put together which can be viewed on venture info page. Eight people turned up for the meeting, which was a very good start.

Bryn Charles (Old PG Scout), Kevin Yearley (Old PG Scout), Louisa Shimell (New to Group and Unit), Alexei Vink and Stephen Roe (Both from another Scout group). Also present was Glenys Rudd (Venture Scout Leader), Richard Taylor (Venture Helper) and Rob Harris (Cub Scout Leader). We would like to welcome all new families to PG scout group.
