Five scouts from Pinkneys Green Scout Group have been selected to represent Berkshire at the 20th World Scout Jamboree taking place in Thailand from 28th December 2002 to January 2003  This is a unique opportunity for the scouts to take part in this world scouting event where they will have the chance to share, live, and learn about cultural diversity.   The theme of the Jamboree is "Share our world, share our cultures".  

During their stay in Thailand the five scouts will be expected to spend one day  working on a service project within the community. These projects are being developed in conjunction with the local communities. They include building bicycle lock-ups for children, sports facilities and starting herb gardens for traditional medicine development. The Jamboree fee for these five scouts from Pinkneys Green will be approximately £11,000

This site will be the focal point for Pinkneys Green Scout Groups fund raising efforts for the jamboree, attracting much interest from within Maidenhead and the rest of Berkshire.

The site will be updated on a regular basis and it is hoped that there will be regular updates posted  from Thailand during the Jamboree and full reports when the scouts return.
